As you may notice, though I love arts, I am not a music fan. Oh , please don’t get me wrong. I love listening to different music genre, it’s just that, I am not a fan. Or maybe because I don’t know how to sing.. a mere happy birthday song will turn into a monologue with me.

Of course I want my kids to be exposed to my music. I want them to learn how to play musical instruments such as piano, guitar and even dean electric bass. Maybe a few more years or next year, I will enroll them in a guitar lesson while my little girl will have a piano lesson when she turns 5.

Self Timer

These days there are a lot of cameras to choose from, each of them has a unique feature that makes a them sell. But almost all of them, specially digital cameras has this one super helpful feature, the self timer. And recently it has been very useful and it is indeed helpful. Last Christmas we had our family portrait and I used the self timer feature to capture the moment… But there’s no need for a self timer if you’ll capture guitar necks because it is often used in capturing one’s self or with the family. Self timer also reduce camera shakes when taking pictures and allows the photographer to be still and positioned before the shutter release. But you’ll need a self timer if you will capture the whole band, making them at ease and still while holding their musical instruments.

Learning Photo Editing Techniques

Little by little, I am learning some simple photography techniques. Thank you very to search engines, my life is a lot easier. A few weeks ago I learned how to blurr the background of any photos (very essential to kids and food photography) using simple techniques. This week, I learned how feathering works (I am so late haha) and when I am busy tweaking GIMP, it really is hard for me to quick disconnect from it. I get to absorb that I don’t even notice what’s going on around me.

Gimp Brushes

I just learned that I can install a lot of brushes on my GIMP! yes, aside from Fonts I have been downloading brushes too. A few weeks ago I downloaded more than 20 burshes I think and started creating my blog about Baguio Hotels and Accomodaion.

You can see the header by visiting the blog. The header was a simple design with trees on each side. I used a brush to put a tree on the header. With my discoveries of brushes, I can now make photos of my grilled burger looked very nice and appealing even though I do not own an outdoor grills. I just have to master the art of incorporating the brushes into real photos.

Online Bingo Playing For My Camera

I first had a camera last 2006. My husband was sent to the US and he saved some of his allowance so he can buy a homecoming gift for me, a Sony digital camera. Those were there years where digital camera is slowly replacing film cameras in the market. It was our first time so we almost had a thousand of photos just the first month of our camera. The point and shoot bid goodbye in 2008 then I had my DSLR. It was a gift from my husband, he gave it to me two years ago.

My zoom lens, we bought las December 2010 and the funds came suddenly. I remember vividly, I was riding a bus and wishing really hard that one day, I will win a jackpot from free online bingo games that I usually play so I can have the resources to buy a zoom lens. Then in the middle of my dream he called and told me we already have fund to buy the lens that I wanted.
